As a Professor of Neuroscience, I have a strong foundation in conducting, recording, and presenting science. I am also the RIO for my institution and have participated in many researchmisconduct cases. I have worked closely with the Associate RIO to update our research misconduct policy, so it conforms to federal regulations. I am, however, only now managing the investigation phase of a research misconduct proceeding. This "on-the-job" training is giving me operational perspective in implementing policy -- recognizing which elements work as
intended and which need improvement for smoother operations.
