About the Conference:

The ARIO Annual Conference will take place on September 29 – October 1, 2026

Conference Details:

  • Format: Virtual 
  • Hours: Sessions will be held daily from approximately 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET
  • Session Types: A combination of plenary/general sessions for all attendees and concurrent breakout sessions offering topic-specific learning opportunities

 

Additional Pre-Conference 1/2 day workshops (optional):

  • Forensics Workshop - Beginner (September 15, 2026)
    • Designed to build your foundational skills in assessing and examining potential manipulations or modifications in image data, this workshop will focus on general concepts of image analysis and a hands-on intro to Photoshop basics (e.g., opening images, navigating the application and basic image analysis techniques).
       
  • Forensics Workshop - Advanced (September 17, 2026)
    • This workshop will use the skills introduced in the beginner workshop to conduct example analyses and really drill down into the details of image analysis (e.g., what are we looking for and how to interpret findings).
       
  • RIO 101 Workshop (September 24, 2026)
    • ​​​​​Whether you’re new to the role or looking to refine your approach, this workshop will help you get oriented and ready to dive in.

      • Core RIO Resources for RIOs 

      • Triage, Jurisdiction, & Multi-Institutional Cases

      • Handling Complex Cases 

      • Applying Your Policy/Federal Regulations Beyond Biomedical Research
