Dr. Courtney Karmelita, D.Ed., is Chief of Staff for Penn State's Office for Research Protections, Research Integrity Officer, and Executive Director of Ethical Research and Outreach. She oversees Quality Assurance, Research Integrity, and Education and Outreach Programs, and serves on Penn State's AI Ethics Framework Working Group and AI Ethics Risk Assessment Committee. Her recent work includes co-leading a grant from ORI, assisting with updates to the ORI Boot Camp curriculum, and developing training and workshops for PRIM&R and CITI. She also oversees data management and sharing plan monitoring and compliance at Penn State, advancing data stewardship initiatives across the university.
