Kate Gallin Heffernan, JD, is a Member at the law firm Epstein Becker Green, where she serves as Managing Shareholder of the Boston office and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. She advises academic medical centers, universities, research institutes, and other research stakeholders on a comprehensive range of issues affecting biomedical research, including the protection of human subjects, research compliance and misconduct investigations, and research grant compliance, among other areas. In addition to advising institutions on the legal aspects of research misconduct matters, Kate frequently serves as the external Research Integrity Officer for institutions through EBG's consulting arm EBG Advisors. Kate is a frequent speaker and author on many issues related to the legal and ethical issues raised by biomedical research. Kate graduated magna cum laude from both New York University School of Law and Georgetown University.
